For Athletic Directors & Guidance Counselors
Our new St. Paul high school squash league brings you and your students a beginner-friendly, non-contact sport that is rated #1 in overall fitness — and gives counselors and ADs a strong option for students looking for their first activity or a leadership story.
For Athletic Directors
No cost to the school, ever — families cover season fees directly (and everyone plays, regardless of ability to pay)
No facility or equipment commitment — practices run off-site at partner clubs
No coaching staff to hire, train, or supervise — MISA provides all coaching, with US Squash certified coaches
Low-contact sport with minimal concussion risk, reducing liability exposure
An inclusive option that supports your Title IX goals without adding to your compliance burden — mixed-gender teams available for smaller programs
Independent club structure, so no MSHSL paperwork, and no district athletics process required to get started
For Guidance Counselors
Every year you meet students who don’t have an activity that fits them, and students looking for something real to show initiative and leadership on their college applications. MISA is built for both. As a founding program, it offers actual named responsibilities, not just roster membership: students can recruit teammates, coordinate team logistics, or help lead fundraising — concrete accomplishments, not padding.
A strong option for students without an existing sport or extracurricular identity
Genuine, specific leadership roles: Founding Captain, Recruitment Lead, Team Logistics Coordinator, Fundraising Lead
No experience required — every player starts as a beginner in year one
A recognized “scholar-athlete” culture that many colleges often associate with the sport of squash
Income-based sliding-scale pricing available for families who need it — no student excluded solely for cost
Season runs December–March, off-cycle from most fall/spring sports, so it fits between existing commitments
